Have you ever felt off balance or dizzy? Most of us have at some point—but do you know why? This course introduces the vestibular system, the primary contributor to your sense of equilibrium. Participants will explore its basic anatomy, physiology, and function, gain insight into common vestibular disorders, and learn practical strategies for improving balance through everyday activities and simple exercises.
About the Instructor:
Tina Hooks holds a BLA in Anthropology from Auburn University and a Master’s in Physical Therapy from Western Carolina University. Over the course of her career, she specialized in vestibular therapy, bringing more than 20 years of experience as a physical therapist. She worked with HPRC and EAMC and later co-owned Equilibrium PT, a vestibular-focused practice. Now retired, Tina enjoys a variety of hobbies, spending time with her cats, and participating in OLLI classes.
