US 250: Perspectives from Auburn University History Faculty
Coordinator: Mark Wilson and History Faculty Guests
Wednesdays, 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM | Jan 21 to Mar 4, 2026 | Pebble Hill

As the nation approaches the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, this course offers an engaging preview through the expertise of Auburn University’s History Department faculty. Each week, a different historian will share insights from their research on the people, movements, and ideas that shaped the American Revolution and its enduring legacy.

Planned topics and presenters include:
• Camden Elliot – How did Native Americans shape the American Revolution?
• Melissa Blair – Was the Revolution revolutionary for women?
• Adam Domby – America’s Second Founding: Reconstruction and the Struggle for a New Birth of Freedom
• Holly Vlach – Pirates and Piracy during the American Revolution
• Adam Jortner – Was the Revolution a Christian War?
• Keith Hébert – What do commemorations tell us about us?

Through these presentations, participants will gain multiple perspectives on how the Revolution has been interpreted, remembered, and reimagined across generations.
