Wonder, Awe, and Writers-as-Visual-Artists
Instructor: William Confer
Mondays, 8:30–10:00 AM | Jan 26 – Mar 9, 2026 | Zoom Only | OLLI Shares UAH

This course explores recent psychological research on how experiences of wonder and awe—from the everyday to the extraordinary—can increase individual fulfillment. It also considers how authors who express themselves both in words and visual art reflect these emotional states across media. Participants will study well-known writers, songwriters, and visual artists whose creative work bridges literature and imagery.

About the Instructor:
William Confer practiced clinical psychology for 38 years and holds a PhD in psychology. His first degree was a BA in English literature, and he brings his lifelong passion for both art and writing to this course.
