Writing Through Grief
Instructors: Gina Touchton & Stephen Gresham
Tuesdays, 2:00–3:30 PM | Sunny Slope Annex | Jan 20 – Mar 3, 2026
Grief touches every life, and writing can be a path toward understanding and healing. This reflective and supportive course invites participants to explore personal experiences of loss through reading, discussion, and creative writing. Each session will include guided writing exercises, short readings, and opportunities for voluntary sharing in a compassionate, small-group setting. The class will draw from Memorial Days, a moving memoir by Geraldine Brooks, along with selected essays and poems that illuminate the many forms of grief and remembrance. Open to writers of all levels, this course offers space to honor memory, give voice to emotion, and discover the restorative power of storytelling.
