This course will focus on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to support local economic development. From helping communities identify target sectors and companies to analyzing local workforce and supply chain gaps and trends, AI is a valuable tool for local economic development professionals. Economic development organizations are leveraging AI in everyday functions, from developing and fine-tune marketing campaigns to increasing operational efficiencies. We will delve into these applications and more and look at some of the AI tools and resources available to Alabama's local economic development practitioners.
