GENERAL INFORMATION

Section 25-5-293(a) of the Code of Alabama, 1975 as last amended, requires continuing education for all personnel who handle Alabama workers' compensation claims. Eight (8) continuing education units which are approved by the Workers' Compensation Division must be obtained each calendar year. Any person not accumulating the necessary continuing education units will receive a suspension of the privilege to handle workers' compensation claims in Alabama.

The seminar fee includes educational material, continental breakfast, lunch and a refreshment break. Confirmation will be e-mailed upon registration. There will be no registrations the day of the seminar. You cannot cancel on the date of the seminar or the two weeks leading up to it. You must notify us to cancel your seminar and we will refund the credit card payment minus the cancellation fee as long as it is before the date of the seminar when requested.

NO REFUNDS UNLESS CANCELLATION IS GIVEN SEVEN (7) WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO SEMINAR. Enrollees who fail to attend the seminar and do not give prior cancellation notice will be required to pay another registration fee if they wish to attend a future seminar. There is a $25 cancellation/refund fee that will be charged and will come out of the $130.00 fee. However, we gladly accept substitutions at no charge.

The seminars focus on all aspects of workers' compensation and topics may include:

Legal Discussion - Attorneys and Judges Medical Discussion and Issues
Legal Update/Case Law Legislative Update
Medical Discussion - Pain Management, various common WC surgery procedures, etc.

Any adjusters new to handling Alabama claims need to contact Peggy Barton at Peggy.Barton@labor.alabama.gov with your contact information as the computers are setup to not accept WC claims from any adjuster that does not have the required CEUs.
