Worker Compensation Seminars for Continuing Education: May 21, 2024
GENERAL INFORMATION Section 25-5-293(a) of the Code of Alabama, 1975 as last amended, requires continuing education for all personnel associated with Alabama Workers' Compensation claims. Eight (8) continuing education units which are approved by the Workers' Compensation Division must be obtained each calendar year. Any person not accumulating the necessary continuing education units will receive a suspension of the privilege to handle workers' compensation claims in Alabama. Advanced online registration is required and payment is due at time of registration. FEES $225 Early Registration Fee, good through 4-30-2024; $235 Registration Fee, begins 01-08-2024 Seminar is being held in person and includes educational material, continental breakfast, lunch and a refreshment break. Confirmation will be e-mailed upon registration. There will be no registrations the day of the seminar. NO REFUNDS UNLESS CANCELLATION IS GIVEN SEVEN (7) WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO SEMINAR. Enrollees who fail to attend the seminar will be required to pay another registration fee if they wish to attend a future seminar. There is a $25 cancellation fee. However, we gladly accept personnel substitutions at no charge. Requests for refunds should be directed to linsey.kelly@labor.alabama.gov. FLIGHT INFORMATION The Perdido Beach Resort Seminar put on by AL Dept. of Labor in 2023 is a two day seminar with an optional first day. Day one is held 1:30 PM - 4:30PM (Optional) to include discussion on Forms and EDI with the AL WC Division and Employment Skills by Auburn Continuing Education Professor. Day two is held 8:00AM - 3:00PM (Mandatory) to include discussion on Case Law/Legal updates and various medical discussions. The nearest airport which is Pensacola International Airport is 31 miles from the conference hotel. You will need to make sure to get a flight that allows you to attend until 3:00 PM for all of AL Dept. of Labor seminars. Shuttle available from Mobile airport: Coastal Express
