Considered one of the most intense and honest treatments of the Holocaust, Steven Spielberg’s masterpiece Schindler’s List examines the puzzling questions of modern heroism. Why would a worldly, wealthy Nazi risk his fortunes and even his life to save over 1200 Jews from Auschwitz? Set in Krakow in 1939, the film shows how Schindler beat the Nazis at their own game to exterminate every Jew in Europe for reasons that defy reasons. Perhaps.
