This course is designed to pick up where Investment Basics left off. Students will take a more in-depth look at stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and derivative investments vehicles and how they work.

Novice and experienced investors can gain a more comprehensive understanding of how to utilize these various investments within their portfolios and how they are impacted by market indices and the macro-economic factors of our economy. During the course, the instructor will discuss how to judge and grade an investment with the appropriate index and how to build a quality, balanced portfolio that reflects an individual's risk tolerance and expected level of return. Analyzing and evaluating existing portfolios will also be covered. A portion of the class will be allocated to how to best protect your current or planned investments with scenarios involving high inflation, stagflation and/or market uncertainty.
