Foreign language immersion experiences are offered in German, Korean, and Spanish. Conducted by faculty in the Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, This program is an opportunity for students to be immersed in one of these languages/cultures without leaving the Auburn campus. During this two-and-a-half day program, students will sharpen their skills in a way that is both fun and interactive. Each class will participate in cultural activities while engaging in their chosen language. This program is being supported by the Auburn University Senate Departmental Award for Excellence in Education and the Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures. Program Schedule: Begins on Thursday, August 11 and ends on Saturday, August, 13 Thursday, August 11: 3:00 – 9:00 P.M. Friday, August 12: 9:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M. Saturday, August 13: 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. Tuition Fee: Foreign language students enrolled at Auburn University: $75 fee All other participants enrolled at Auburn University: $125 fee Please note, accepted students will make a language pledge: Students will agree to speak only the target language from the beginning of the workshop until the end of the workshop. Students should understand that their commitment to speak only in the target language will increase their confidence, improve their skills, and let them reap the most benefit from this mini-immersion experience. If you have any questions about the application process, please contact: Alan Spencer at (334)844-5100 or acs0132@auburn.edu If a registration is canceled for any reason, the individual or organization making the original tuition payment will receive: (1) a full refund, less an administrative fee of $25, if the cancellation request is received in writing within 15 days of the start of the session; (2) a refund of 50%, if the cancellation request is received in writing less than 15 days of the start of the session, but before the start date; (3) no refund for a 'No Show' or for a cancellation request received on the start date or after the session is in progress. Note: A registration may NOT be transferred to another person. Auburn University reserves the right to cancel courses due to insufficient enrollment. If a course is canceled due to insufficient enrollment, registration fees are refunded in full.
