Drawing Crash Course!
Observation is the key to good drawing, and good drawing is the bedrock of all that follows. This workshop will introduce you to new ways of seeing. You'll explore some traditional approaches to drawing such as emphasizing basic shapes, combining basic shapes, shading, and perspective. You will also be introduced to some intuitive approaches to drawing such as contour drawing and the shape of negative spaces. A few exercises from Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain will teach you how to access the part of your brain that has the superior ability to process visual information. An artist must learn how to draw what they really see, not what they expect to see, to draw the visual distortions of perspective to make an image appear more three dimensional.
