HORSE U is a one-day educational program for children and teens who own or have a passion for horses. Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Auburn Veterinary Education Center on the Auburn University campus. The sixth annual HORSE U—or Horse Ownership Resources, Skills and Education for Youths—will offer youths 9 and older important information related to horse health, care and handling. This year’s HORSE U, will feature educational presentations on hoof trimming/shoeing, horse judging and conformation, forage quality and pasture/hay testing, nutrition for special needs horses, and a quiz bowl game testing participants’ basic horse knowledge and hands-on sessions dealing with equine dental issues. All activities will take place at the vet school.
