This course is considered an introductory class for all property tax classes as it provides an overview of all responsibilities of the county property tax office. The course includes a discussion on the Alabama Constitution, legislation, litigation and attorney general opinions and their impact on the administration of the property tax system. Participants will learn to read the Code of Alabama and locate sections pertinent to property tax administration. There will be an overview of the entire appraisal process as well as the time line, personnel and terms involved in administering the Property Tax Process.

This class will begin Wednesday, March 1st at 8:30 AM and conclude on Friday, March 3rd 1:00 PM in Tuscaloosa. Please refer to the attachments for additional course and hotel information, including a list of supplies you will need to bring to class.
Refund and Cancellation Policy:
Your registration is CONFIRMED, and payment is requested before the course start date unless you make prior arrangements. NOTE: The University will not refund for check payments unless the agency is a registered vendor of the University. Payment can be made by credit card by calling our office, or invoices will be sent. Written or email cancellations received 15 working days prior to the beginning of the class (on or before February8th) will be honored with a partial refund of the registration fee, less an assessed administrative fee ($50) (credit card only). Late cancellations or non-attendance are non-refundable, and payment is expected in full. Substitutions can be made at any time.
