Participants will develop a knowledge foundation of the laws surrounding payroll processing, recognize and identify legal forms involved with payroll processing, demonstrate ability to locate resources necessary for payroll processing, and recognize and define terms used in payroll processing. This is one of four required courses to become an Alabama Certfiied Payroll Specialist (ACPS). This course is also accepted in the AAPPA Professional and Specialist Programs. This class meets from 9:00 AM-4:30 PM.

If you are taking this course to earn certification in either the Payroll Certification Program or in the AAPPA HR or Specialist Certification Program, you must take and pass the exam. If you are already certified in either AAPPA or Risk Management, AND you are only taking this course for CE hours in either of those programs, then you do not need to take the exam. If you are already certified in Payroll, you can only repeat this course every five (5) years for CE hours, and do not need to retake the exam. This course may count simultaneously for all three certification programs (AAPPA HR or Specialist, ACPS, ACRMS).
