Base Manuscript & Section Layouts

This course will provide participants with knowledge on the history of mapping. Mappers in the state will gain further knowledge of the purposes for aerial photography and learn questions that need to be asked in order to achieve the right type of photography and how to recognize poor photography. Mappers will perform the skill of drawing a base manuscript based on knowledge that is learned concerning how a base manuscript is created, how it is used and what is the purpose of the base manuscript. Pre-requisites: Alabama Basic Mapping and Alabama Intermediate Mapping.

Thank you for registering for Base Manuscript and Section Layouts course to be held on October 23-27, 2023 at the Lee County Training Facility, 205 S 10th Street in Opelika, AL 36801.

Basic Mapping and Intermediate Mapping are both prerequisite courses for this class. If you have not completed Basic Mapping AND Intermediate Mapping, please contact our office immediately to cancel this registration to avoid cancellation fees.

Base Manuscript will begin Monday, October 23rd at 8:30 AM and conclude on Friday, October 27th at 12:00 noon. Please print the attachment for directions to the classroom, parking information, and hotel room block information. The attachment also provides a list of supplies to bring to class.

Refund and Cancellation Policy: Your registration is CONFIRMED, and payment is requested before the course start date unless you make prior arrangements. Payment can be made by credit card by calling our office, or invoices will be sent. Written or email cancellations received 15 working days on or before October 2nd) prior to the beginning of the class will be honored with a partial refund of the registration fee, less an assessed administrative fee ($50). Late cancellations or non-attendance are non-refundable, and payment is expected in full. Substitutions can be made at any time.
