This course provides information around local government professionals' roles in the planning, advancement, and promotion of their community. It explores such issues as strategic and comprehensive planning, community branding and engagement, technology and development, and policy development and implementation.

Notes:

Presented by the Government & Economic Development Institute (GEDI) at Auburn University, the Alabama City County Management Association’s (ACCMA) “Economic and Community Development” course, a component of the ACCMA Local Government Professional Management Certification Program, will be held February 8-9, 2024, in Suite A of the Auburn Center for Developing Industries (ACDI), which is located at 1500 Pumphrey Avenue, Auburn, AL 36832. Additionally, the course will be hosted online for remote participation. The course’s sessions will take place from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Thursday, February 8, and continue from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, February 9.
