This course informs the commissioner of current trends and ongoing issues surrounding economic and community development. The preceding course, "Introduction to Economic Development in Alabama," is not a prerequisite for this course, so any county commissioner can register and benefit from this class (there are no prerequisites in any ALGTI programs, encouraging all county commissioners' participation). This course evaluates educational workforce implications, rural development strategies, international involvement, and several other factors of community development.
