This abatements course is designed to assist those persons involved in the assessment of real and personal property subject to property tax abatements. There is no pre-requisite to this class but students should have a working knowledge of the assessment process prior to taking this course. An in-depth discussion of the tax incentives offered in Code of Ala, 1975 ยงยง40-9B and 9G will be offered. Topics include documentation requirements, limits, and record keeping recommendations. The process of ALDOR abatement review will be presented. Exercises and discussion of data management in the CAMA system will also be part of the course.
