AAAO: Mapping and Appraisal Processes

The Alabama Association of Assessing Officials (AAAO) offers pre-conference courses at their Summer conference.  Topics vary each year. These are tested courses.

Mapping & Appraisal Processes
Description: This course is designed to show the relationship between mapping, appraisal, assessing, and collecting and how they affect each other. Students will gain a better understanding of each process and the importance of completing tasks in accordance with the Property Tax Plan for Equalization timeline.

Valuing Machinery & Equipment
Description: This course will explore valuation topics for personal property machinery and equipment in commercial and industrial settings. The appraisal process, value concepts, and all three approaches to value will be covered in the material. In addition, topics specific to industrial valuation will be examined. The class will include theory and exercises, as well as opportunity for classroom discussion.
