Commercial Property Best Practices
This course is designed to familiarize appraisers with the best practices f appraising commercial properties. There will be a discussion of building materials and a focus on commercial adjustments. It is recommended that participants have successfully completed the Alabama Real Property Appraisal Manual course or have an extensive knowledge of the appraisal process as it relates to commercial properties.
Abatements and Personal Property Exemptions
This course will provide appraisers with information for the proper assessment of abatements for both real and personal property. Best practices for proper documentation and communication with taxpayers will be discussed, as well as example abatement scenarios. Personal property exemptions will also be a topic of the class. These include common industrial exemptions as well as the new $40,000 market value exemption of personal property..
